I premiered my latest book, “Three-Color Tiling,” at the Portland Zine Symposium on Saturday, July 9. This is another book from the analytical corner of my brain. The design is similar to “P-Pentomino Solutions” but the 46 patterns inside are in full color. The objective was to come up with a set of regular 3-color patterns in which the density of the three colors is equal. The patterns in this book are built on simple square or equilateral triangle units, but these generally combine with adjacent units as stripes, zigzags, chevrons, lozenges, and so forth. Some patterns are recognizable from common use in folk art and heraldry, but some of them seem novel. I applied a set of ship names to label the different designs, in part to memorialize the many hospital ships that were attacked and sunk as acts of war.
I have a new book in the works on three-color tiling patterns.
I hope to have it available by April.
I have a new small book titled Sidereal Stills, evolved from this drawing.
It will be available along with my other printworks at the ShortRun Comix and Arts Festival at Seattle Center.
Printed paper Halloween treats will be available for the first 30 trick-or-treating kids at my table.
See you there!
Obey Leash Laws is now officially published. I used Photoshop to color the cover illustration. More information is available here. The public debut of the book will be on Halloween at the ShortRun Festival in Seattle.

I’ve been finalizing the layout for my latest book, Obey Leash Laws. This is one two-page spread. Each page features a collage of sketchbook imagery and an anagram of the title.
We will be attending the Portland Zine Symposium tomorrow, 7/18/2015. For the event I am reprinting a few copies of Manzine, a small artzine I published 25 – 30 years ago.
